    Hello Egypt!
    Day 1:
Nicola arrived 4am in the hotel informing me that Rachel and Cooper took the wrong bag in the airport and only realised after a 1 hour commute and had to go back and collect the colorectal bag. Meaning they all were very sleep deprived

At least the lunch was decent even tho we had to wait 40min to get served.

    The view was amazing tho.

We had our intro session for the trip this evening and we are probably the youngest people in this group of the tour 😬

  • Aswan

    October 17, 2022 in Egypt ⋅ ☀️ 36 °C

    Day 4:
Woke up in Aswan this morning after a crazy night in a sleeper train across Egypt! Quite an experience.
We asked the guy who served us food if there was a veggie option, his response was… just don’t eat the meat😂

It was quite soothing waking up seeing the Nile and the desert flowing passed our train window.

Next up was we checked into our river cruise and off to do some sight seeing and temple visits

We ended the evening with a Nubian dinner
(Which subsequently gave me food poisoning)

  • Luxor

    October 19, 2022 in Egypt ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

After 1.5 days of food poisoning I left the room for the first time for a very brief excursion

The next few days was spent just sailing up the Nile and enjoying the sights.

We stopped for a early morning hot air balloon ride.

We checked into an awesome hotel in Luxor
And went to visit some temples and enjoyed the pool.

  • Back to Cairo

    October 21, 2022 in Egypt ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

On the last day in Luxor we went to the valley of the kings and had a look at some tombs.

Saw Tutankhamen and his tomb and a few others. It was a scorcher of a day🥵

That night we caught a night train back to Cairo. Rach had a really rough night, and couldn’t really sleep.

On arrival in Cairo went to see the hanging church and the Muhammad Ali mosque and had a lunch in town with some shopping.
Also added the famous Cairo museum in there

Great few days up and down the Nile.

  • Sinai peninsula

    October 25, 2022 in Egypt

On the last bit of the trip we took a early morning flight from Cairo to Dahab which is on the Sinia peninsula that’s right smack bam in the middle of the Red Sea.

The next few days we went diving had some of the best seafood ever and spent the time enjoying the ocean and the weather.

The highlight was hiking up mount Sinai (the mountain Moses reportedly received the 10 commandment’s) in the middle of the night.
We then rented mattresses and slept on a ledge overlooking the mountains (even though it was so cold we were wrapped up like burritos) .
    The sunrise was absolutely breathtaking.

As soon as we woke up and enjoyed the sights we hiked back down and visited the monastery (which was build by a Roman emperor) to see the original burning bush.

This was such an amazing trip.
