    September 20, 2025 in Austria ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

The palace grounds where very impressive and you could tell the grounds where designed to ridden around in a horse drawn carriage, which you could do if you wanted to. On the last picture, they where setting up for a horse show, which kind of seemed like an idea place to have one.Read more

  • Schönbrunn Palace, Inside

    September 21, 2025 in Austria ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Schönbrunn Palace is what I would call the Mc Mansion of palaces. There where a lot of rooms in the palace but I thought only two of them seemed impressive, the chapel, which most visitors skipped, and the ballroom. The first two pictures are of the chapel, and the third and fourth picture are of the ball room. The last picture represented pretty much what all the other rooms in the palace looked like. It was just room, after room, after room of selfies hanging on the walls. What I found surprising was the palace was packed with people. I had to wait two hours to get into the palace and there was one continuous long line thru the entire palace and everyone was standing around looking at the selfies on the wall and listening to a prerecorded description of the selfies or listening to their tour guild. I blitzed thru this palace. Meanwhile, across the street was a technology museum that I really liked and it had no line and only a hand full of high school kids who where bored out of their minds and playing on their phone. I would like to think everyone else has a poor taste in museums, but I am pretty sure all the high school kids in the technology museum would disagree with me. I have also come to the conclusion, if you like selfies, you would like Vienna.Read more

  • Vienna Museum of Science & Technology

    September 22, 2025 in Austria ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

The first picture is a cauldron used to make steel. You fill the cauldron with melted pig iron then pump in oxygen which reacts with the carbon in the pig iron to turn the pig iron into steel. If you look closely you can see a person in the picture to get an idea just how big this cauldron was.Read more

  • Belvedere Palace

    September 23, 2025 in Austria ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

This is a palace that has been turned into a museum. I think there are about six palaces that have been build around Vienna. I thought the palace was more impressive then the art work in the museum. On the last picture if you look closely you can see scaffolding with a mesh net that looks like the building behind the scaffolding, and the guy on the horse is suppose to be Napoleon.Read more

  • World War I Museum

    September 24, 2025 in Austria ⋅ 🌧 13 °C

This is World War I museum which has the car that Archduke Francis Ferdinand was assassinated in. It was interesting to read how the dominos fell, day after day starting with the assassination, as World War I got bigger and bigger as more countries got dragged into the war.Read more

  • Museum of Natural History Vienna

    September 25, 2025 in Austria ⋅ 🌧 13 °C

This was by far the most impressive natural history museum building I have every been to. At first I thought it was a palace they converted into a museum but nope, they built this building as the natural history museum. The last picture shows the ceiling in the cafeteria.Read more

    September 26, 2025 in Austria ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

This is a museum with paintings and Egyptian artifacts but I was most impressed with the building. It was very similar to the natural history museum and the last picture is the ceiling in the cafeteria.Read more
