    Day 563: Long Driving North East

    Romania is a pretty big country. It's also very slow to traverse, as we found out today. We knew it was going to be a long slow six hour drive to the north-east, and that's exactly what we got.

    No freeways, not really even highways. Mostly just semi back-roads and endless villages. Lots of 50 zones though nobody pays the slightest bit of attention. That said, nobody really pays attention to any road rules at all. Again lots of horses, lots of tractors, lots of roadkill of stray dogs and cats.

    Eventually arrived late afternoon in the tiny village of Solca where we're staying two nights. The village is hilariously small, really just a street with a few buildings, and we're fairly sure the building we're staying in isn't finished. It likely never will be! And of course the wifi doesn't work, and we can't get 3G. Managed to get supplies from the "store" which was like a 1960s time warp, but they did have spaghetti and some tomato sauce so we managed.
