Champeix

After an enjoyable drive over the mountains and nearly getting stuck in a tiny village we ended up in an Aire in Champeix. The Aire is right next to some great trails so the next day we went on a lovely hike to a mountain village with a old chateau overlooking the valley . By chance as we were following a circular trail when we came upon what looked like some kind of abandoned Hobbit village. Its made up of 140 caves that were probably used for wine storage but now most are abandoned but some are used to store the local cheese made in the village of saint-jullienWeiterlesen
