  • Cala Roca Grossa

    4–6 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

We moved west further into Spain, and found a lovely campsite near a beautiful beach called Camping Roca Grossa. It is between the resort of Calella and Sant Pol de Mar. We walked around both resorts and they were not to busy at the moment. The campsite has a huge swimming pool so we stayed for two nights.Leggi altro

  • Montseratt

    6 giugno 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

We decided to visit Montseratt after seeing a few YouTubers go, its a beautiful town with a monastery 2000 ft above it. To get there we took the cable car. After looking around we then took the venicular railway to get above the monastery and went for a hike. The views from 3000 ft are incredible it was a great experience and if you haven't been I would definitely encourage you to go if you are in this part of Spain.Leggi altro

  • montblanc

    7 giugno 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

What a find this town was! It has a beautiful medieval city in its centre still surrounded by its original wall defense including the entrance gates and towers. We took a tour around the city wall which afforded us some great views of the centre. There was a market on as well so we spent a couple of hours here before heading back to the coastLeggi altro

  • Salou

    7–8 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

We found a large parking area that motorhomes use so decided to stay overnight, after exploring the promenade we planted ourselves on the sands and I decided to go for my first swim in Spain, unfortunately the water was full of jelly fish so l had to make a hasty retreat! The town is your standard overbuilt Spanish resort but was nice for one night.Leggi altro

  • Cambrils

    8–9 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ 🌬 26 °C

We headed to 6km past Salou to the resort of Cambrils. We parked on the road where you are allowed to stay overnight for 2.25 euros. The town is more upmarket than Salou with a nice promenade going for miles in both directions. There are lots of bars and restaurants and a vibrant shopping area. We broke our record for walking distance and did 16miles on our first day walking the promenade. We had some nice food in the evening in a chilled out beach bar.Leggi altro

  • Perrello-Mar

    9–10 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

After the last few days we wanted to find a quiet spot to park up for the night. We found it at Perrello -Mar! The free park up is very close to the most amazing beach, the kind we crave for but are getting harder to find. There is a fabulous coastal path going in both directions which we used for a nice hike. But it was the beach that will stay with us in our memories. Its clear calm waters allowed us to get some swimming in. The beach also has a great beach bar where the only language you hear is Spanish, apart from my pathetic attempts that is :)Leggi altro

  • Peniscola

    10–11 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

We wanted to visit Peniscola as we had seen quite a few YouTubers go here so we found a motorhome Aire within walking distance of the old town. On the headland of the old town sits a large castle which is in brilliant condition as it has been restored to its former glory, we paid to visit, it's only 5e each and this includes entry to the gardens as well. Peniscola is a busy resort but well worth visiting just for the castle alone. There is so much to see here that we will have to come back in the future.Leggi altro

  • Sueras

    11–12 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

We fancied going inland to do some mountain hiking so we parked for the night in the Aire provided by the people of Sueras which includes all services free of charge. There are many walks to choose from and you could spend a lot of time here if you enjoy hiking. The town is very pretty as wellLeggi altro

  • Daimus

    12–13 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

Terrible storms in the area meant that we wouldn't be doing much hiking in the mountains so we left in the morning and made our way to the coast and ended up in Daimus. We found a Camper stop, which are like Aires but includes shower and laundry facilities. The drive there was challenging as there was very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Daimus has a nice beach but is full of huge apartments and was like a ghost town this time of year. Not a place we would go back to.Leggi altro

  • Calpe

    13–15 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

We wanted to visit Benidorm so we could say we have been there, so we stayed in Calpe which is not to far away but much less hectic. We stayed in a motorhome stop again which has good facilities. Calpe is a nice town with great beaches and a huge rock that you can walk up at one end. We caught the bus and had a day in benidorm which was more than enough for us, we won't be going back anytime soon but wanted to visit to see it first hand. The old town where we had a meal was ok though.Leggi altro

  • El Pinet

    15–17 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

Our next stop took us to a campsite Aire in the lovely village of El Pinet. This is without doubt the best paid parkup we have had since we left the UK. Its run by a Dutch couple who have thought of everything a motorhomer would require. There is super clean showers and a laundry room outside pool to cool yourself down, a great bar area and water on your pitch. All for 13euros plus any electric you use. The resort itself has a nature reserve with pink flamingos, and a long sandy beach with a couple of bars. We went for a swim both days and we did a 12 mile hike to the next resort and back. Will definitely go back there next year.Leggi altro

  • La Manga

    17–18 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Our next stop is La Manga. We have seen it on the place in the sun on Channel 4 and thought it looked interesting. Its a strip of land around 21km long with the Mediterranean on one side and the Mar Menor forming the lagoon. At the far end you can stay in your motorhome. Its a great place to stay for a night. We had the beach to ourselves for a sundowner in the evening. There is a good walk down both sides of the strip as well.Leggi altro

  • La Azohia

    18–19 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

We headed for a free stop to the beach in La Azohia. It's basically a beach car park that allows motorhomes to stay but has no services. The beach at La Azohia is stunning, the water is crystal clear with sand all the way in. You can walk in the sea with fish all around you. The promenade goes round the bay. In the evening we took a walk up the hill to a small look out which gave us great views over the bay and the surrounding mountains. From afar the resort reminds me of a small greek island settlement. On the way back down we stopped at the beach bar for a couple of Sundowners.Leggi altro

  • Lorca

    19–20 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

We headed inland to Lorca which has a castle perched on a hill above the town. We stayed at one of only two Ccp camping Aires in Spain at the princely price of 1e per night including all services. We walked up to the castle and had a look around. The views from the top are spectacular. Next morning there was a massive market just across the road from the Aire.Leggi altro

  • Playa de Quitapellejos

    20–21 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

What a find this stop was, right on the beach with loads of room. We had direct access to the water from our motorhome and had a lovely peaceful night. The resort itself is a vast beach with a couple of beach bars and mountains for a backdrop. It's very popular with motorhomers and vanlifers as you can park pretty much anywhere. It's also very popular with nudists mainly Germans. But fortunately the area we parked was ok! In the morning we walked to the beautiful Spanish coastal village of Villaricos where there is also plenty of parking for motorhomes. We are following the AL-7107 coastal road which has hundreds of places to park up and is very popular with motorhomes.Leggi altro

  • Caba de Gata

    21 giugno 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

We have wanted to visit Caba de Gata since we first saw the place on Jamiroquai video Cloud 9 , check it out if you haven't seen it. We drove to the famous church on the main coastal road going up to the lighthouse. There is a beautiful beach running along the whole coastline in this area. Judging by the amount of motorhomes in one of the car parks, I think you may be able to overnight here. After having a good look around we decided to get some miles in to our overnight stopLeggi altro

  • Almuñécar

    21–22 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

We had a longish drive west along the coast towards nerja after our stop in cabo, our first stop looked nice but we were the only ones there and there was a lot of locals around, so after we had some food we moved on as it didn't 'feel' right. Our next attempt was a camperstop aire 2km farther on. Unfortunately they were full. It was getting late by this time so we carried on west and found a stop in Almuñécar just as it was getting dark. We have visited here before with family, it a nice place to spend a few days with a good promenade and plenty of nice bars and restaurants.Leggi altro

  • Los Rubios

    22–24 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Moving along the coast westward we found a great little camperstop which is more like a campsite with all the facilities for 14 Euros a night close by is a nice sandy beach with crystal clear sea water. We visited Málaga for the day as we have flown into the airport but never visited the city before. Málaga is a great place to spend the day and the bus service regular along the coast so easy to get into. We had a lovely meal and visited the castle just above the town centre.Leggi altro

  • Ronda

    24–25 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

We headed inland on our westward journey towards Portugal. Our destination was the Town of Ronda. It has a medieval town wall with a lot of Roman architecture, with massive arches at a few places along the city walls. We stayed at a lovely campsite with a much needed pool to cool down in as the temperature is getting hotter every day, its in the high 30s now.Leggi altro

  • Seville

    25–26 giu 2024, Spagna ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Our next stop took us to Seville, we parked up for the afternoon in the Decathlon carpark and walked the 3km to the city centre. Seville is a stunning city with an amazing palace to visit although we didn't have enough time and decided to walk around the city centre taking in all the sights. But we will probably come back next year and see bits we missed. In the evening we moved to a motorhome parking area in a village above the city with brilliant views of Seville.Leggi altro

  • Tavira

    26–28 giu 2024, Portogallo ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

We finally made it to Portugal, our first time here and our first stop didn't disappoint. We stopped at a great camperstop with all the facilities. Within walking distance is the coastal town of Tavira which has a big river running into the sea that splits the town in half, there is an island just off the coast that you can visit by catching the ferry that goes every hour. The town is full of churches and museums with a great choice of bars and restaurants, we had a great Indian meal in the evening and visited the island for a few hours on the beach.Leggi altro
