  • Quimper

    We decided to visit Quimper for the afternoon, we had not considered going here but it looked an interesting place to have a wonder around. The town is dominated by huge double tower. There is a good shopping area around it and a river to have a stroll along, we had a nice time here.Baca lagi

  • Rosporden

    After our trip to Quimper we wanted somewhere to chill out for the evening, we found a nice lakeside free aire in the town of Rosporden. The location is very good with views of the lake and a green way running alongside the aire. Only issue we had was the parking is under huge tree's and it rained most of the night so we didn't have a peaceful sleep.Baca lagi

  • Carnac

    We were recommended to go to Carnac and visit the stones. The stones are small but they number thousands and are spread out over a large area, the town of Carnac has a great beach which we had a nice walk along and spent a few hours here before moving onBaca lagi

    We headed for the 100km along the coast u the Aire we went to was rammed, so we drove a little farther and got the last place on a great little Aire next to a massive bay with the Gr34 on our doorstep. The weather is very hot though fortunately the sea breeze helps cool us down. We loved this spot so much we stayed for two nights. We also met an amazing German lady called Beate who has retired and lives and travels in a self built campervan and we got to meet her lovely Gustov her beautiful dogBaca lagi

  • Limouziniere

    We headed south and inland a bit and found a nice small Ccp Aire in the village of Limouziniere. The aire is next to an old chateau where we had a look around, the village itself has a large impressive church at its centre. The village is the headquarters of the Pilote motorhome group. We found some nice hikes in the area.Baca lagi

  • Mareuil Sur Lay

    We travelled a little further south into the Loire and found a free Aire in the town of Mureuil sur Lay. There is a pretty church in the centre and a few shops but we were able to get washing done at the revolution which is conveniently placed outside a intermarche. We got a hike in around the area but not that many trails around unfortunately.Baca lagi

  • Fouras

    We made a bee line to the coast and found the pretty resort of Fouras, we stayed at a Ccp Mon village aire which has good facilities including shower's. The camp is right next to the sea and has views of the Fort of Fouras, you can also spot Fort Boyard out to sea. We had a pleasant two days here had hike along the coast as the weather was good.Baca lagi

  • Jarnac Champagne

    We drove to another Ccp aire at Jarnac, after arriving we realised that we had stayed here last year! We didn't mind as its a nice site with lovely views on the edge of a vineyard, where we spent the afternoon walking a trail around .
    We got back just as it started raining so we spent the rest of the evening just relaxing.

  • Brantome

    For our next stopover we picked a favourite of Tim and Jacky who visited here last year. We can definitely see why they like it here, the village is spectacular with the backdrop of the abbey. We enjoyed walking around and taking in the sites, we also found a great hike on Alltrails , definitely a place to come back to.Baca lagi

  • Perigueux

    There seems to be quite a lot of stunning medieval towns in this area and just 20km away from our last stop we found another. We parked up in a paid Aire but they are not charging at the moment so we got a free night. Perigueux sits on the L'isle river. The Saint Font cathedral is very impressive in the centre with all the shops and restaurants. After exploring the town we took a nice walk along the riverBaca lagi

  • Sarlat la Caneda

    A place that was recommended to us Sarlat la Caneda is a good place to stop and have a look around. We visited the medieval town and had a little lunch. Once again the town has an impressive cathedral in the centre with lots of interesting buildings all around the centre. There are a lot of people eating outside in the plentiful restaurants and bars dotted around.Baca lagi

  • Saint Leon sur Vezere

    Another picture perfect french village next to a wide river where you can hire out canoes.We stayed at the Ccp aire right in the heart of the village. We found some great trails running alongside the river and through a gorge. The village itself is stunning one of the prettiest we have ever visited. It's known as the prettiest village in France, but I'm guessing there are many contenders for that title!Baca lagi

  • Gourdon

    Another medieval, set on a hill with great views for miles all around. We stopped at a free Aire with free services, its a great park up and you can put tables and chairs out if you want. The weather is really hot now as we.move further south the temperature is in the mid 30s now. We walked up through the town to the highest point for the spectacular views.Baca lagi

  • Espinas, As Plos

    We have had a wonderful stay with Marcus and family, we stayed for the first three nights in the huge barn conversion with a large pool for our use, which was amazing as the weather has been in the 30s so it was more bearable. Marcus, Charlotte, Jim and Mel and not forgetting Amadie and Lois are incredible hosts and provided everything for us over our stay, we can't thank them enough, If you are looking for a Great place to stay for a week or two we would fully recommend you come here.Baca lagi

  • Saint Enimie

    We bagged the last place at the car park at Saint Enimie, this is one of the official most beautiful villages in France and so far it is the prettiest we have visited. Its set right in the Gorges du Tarn, which is a massive Gorge that is 33 miles long and 600m deep and the river Tarn runs through it. There are many people canoeing along it also there are hundreds of hikes and climbs. We did a few hikes but the weather is too hot for longer ones.Baca lagi

    Our first campsite of the tour is Vagabond camping on the river, only 13euro a night with good facilities. Very nice arrival and English spoken. We had a look around Florac which has a nice centre and a Chateau and a large church. We decided not to do another hike as the weather is too hot to climb the gorge so chilled out for the late afternoon and evening.Baca lagi

    We are one stop away from Provence now and we stayed overnight in a Mon Village CCP which is a campsite turned into an Aire, the facilities are very good. The Aire is right next to the river and you can swim in it to cool down. The heatwave continues and its very hot in the motorhome today 41 decrees! We had a look around the town which is very nice with lots of small shops and bars. There is a small medieval centre as well. On Friday morning the village has a large market which is worth a look.Baca lagi

  • Bedoin

    We parked in the CCP Aire in the pretty town of Bedoin, the area is known for its cycling,the mountain Ventoux is close by and the cyclists use the town as a base. We were lucky with the timing as it was la fete de la musique day so the town had loads going on. We had a meal out in the evening and got stuck in with the festivities! We will definitely come back here in the future.Baca lagi

  • Le Puy en Velay

    We remembered that Jacky and Tim had visited here last year and it is on our route north so we decided to visit for a few days. We checked into the campsite in the centre of the town close to all the attractions. The town is beautiful and has plenty of attractions to visit. We are next to a church perched on top of a rocky stack. We climbed up the steps of the cathedral and also to the top of the statue of Mary which is the highest point of the town with fabulous views, you have to climb a ladder to get into her head at the very top!Baca lagi

  • Lac de Sainte Croix

    We have reached the furthest point of our journey, we are close to the Mediterranean sea and Monaco, we have found a great campsite on the banks of France's 3rd largest lake. We have enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear water which is nice considering the temperature is 35c . Just a few miles from the campsite is another one of France's most beautiful villages, its set on a hill with a cascade of water coming from the mountain above running through its centre. We climbed up to the church which sits overlooking the area with amazing views. This has been one of the highlights of our journey.Baca lagi
