Ammonites were abundant when Colombia was covered in Ocean.
Kronosaurus Boyacensis. These sharp tooth creatures are only found here... And Queensland!Colombian Stonehenge equivalent. The construction methods here are not as mysterious.Statues erected to worship the morning sun. Conquistadors didn't find anything glorious about them.So they called in the Dominicans to educate and "save" the MuiscaThe Dominicans were methodical and studied the native peoples extensivelyAll heathens were to be subjugatedIncluding the Jews according to this guy. He rounded up so many that they made him a saint. On to the town of Raquira. Fortunately we were given a 30 minute shopping deadlineColombian coffee: the locals now get access to the good stuff, not just the export leftovers.Back near our hotel we visited the Chocolate Museum1Which was somewhat educational, somewhat ecclectic and somewhat sillySpot the ammonites!Chocolate draught beer. Intriguing, but it turns out, not the best bedfellows.

A short day trip with Julio to a famous fossil house, a Dominican monastery and Columbia's answer to Stonehenge. A little retail therapy and relaxation topped things off which was nice because tomorrow will be a transit day.もっと詳しく
