    I underestimated the walk from the top of the funicular to the cactus garden
    Fortunately there were lots of distractions along the wayI'm not sure about that focal length, but they claimed to hear each other perfectlySteamboat Willie...     We decided to enjoy the sunshine before we head to Germany tomorrow. Where better to do this than at a Cactus Garden on the slopes of Montjuic!

    The largest museum of automation, technology.... and Baymax
    2Some amazing old planes, but we thought it a bit over-technical rather than fun-facts/hands-on.At least the German names for their machines provided us with some amusement.1Hers? Yes. Was it full strength? It was a shandy. Did she finish it? No.Fake smile. The real smile was when the strudel arrived.For me it was when we finally found the pretzel ladySo big that we all shared it.

    Today we took our last weight restricted flight (to Munich) before heading home. Now the only thing left to weigh is ourselves when we get back : (

    While the boys were out hunting boar someone was dusting all these rooms
    Turkish < German < ItalianThe skies are even grey in the paintings. C'mon Germans, jazz it up a bit.A museum documenting the rise & fall of the 3rd Reich. Munich was NSDAP central.A bit too sombre to take photos inside. The building was the site of the Brown House: Nazi Party HQCurrywurst: meant to be takeaway & shared. Came on a plate so woofed solo in the rain. Still good.Working my way through the Munich beers each evening in the Exec Lounge. Gotta use it!

    We braved the grey skies to visit the Nymphenburg Palace (which, to be fair, was a summer residence so our judginess was probably a bit OTT) & the NS-Dokumentationszentrum Munchen (there go my limited characters) which was uber interesting.Read more

    I gave the ABS a workout. Roughly 2 hrs each way from Munich in the snow.
    The King's Lake. A boat leads to a mid-lake chapel, a waterfall and numerous hiking trails.1We didn't pack crampons so we decided to enjoy the lake from the restaurant. Thems the breaks.The view was gorgeousThe room was warm and cosyThe food was hearty and homelyA brief lakeside exploration had given us reason to need warming up.1A slippery step that I wasn't prepared to takeI really wanted the last shot to connect. Bad parent.

    Our last day before we start the journey home (assuming the train strike doesn't go ahead)..
    We hired a car for 24hrs so of course the clouds opened up... with buckets of fluffy, white snow! Driving issues aside, it meant that our day trip would be pretty. We chose to visit Lake Konigssee rather than any castles. It was magical.Read more

    Fortunately the train strike was delayed. There were tractors on patrol but our roads were clear.
    Kombat Racing is German style Mario Kart. There were 3 places to charge your weapons.It was just like the game. Missiles and bombs ground you to a halt.     I promised the kids something German on our last day to ward off "end-of-trip blues". I needn't have bothered. It turns out that time off at home to hang out with friends before school/uni/work = happy days. What is more German than kart racing?! Like the tourists we are, we spurned the serious tracks for Kombat Racing.Read more

    Not a bad option but I'd only really do it for 12-18 hr transits which aren't ideal anyway.We'll see if it helps reduce jetlag at work tomorrow (nonclinical 🤪)1My worst nightmare. All 5 of us ordered the same thing.2Complete sook

    All good things come to an end which is just fine by Moose. A few boring travel photos to track the journey. Next big trip....We've got 11 months to learn some Spanish and work on our running. Duolingo would probably be a good idea but I'll start with D-d-d-d-d-dora!
