Route to Walvis Bay

Drove through some more stunning scenery- Great open plains with lots of big hills/mountains. A few people had set up stalls selling curios by the side of the road and were trying desperately to get any passing tourists to stop and buy something. We’ve no more nights camping and had quite a bit of food left over so gave a bag of our groceries to a Himba family - I didn’t want to take any pictures, it felt rather disrespectful, but they are striking people who use ochre, butter and bush herbs to cover braids in their hair - it looks a lot like red dreadlocks.
Got to the coast at Henties Bay, dunes meet a very inhospitable looking ocean. stopped off in Swakopmund which has some very swanky looking houses (similar looking suburbs to those in WA) and had a quick stretch of our legs along the jetty. We are staying in Walvis Bay - It’s very very blowy and we have a boat trip planned for tomorrow morning, hope it settles!Read more
