Plantations and Hot sauce !

So we’re up very early as we cannot sleep! It’s a welcome breakfast that feels like lunch and we head west past Lake Pontchartrain and onto Oak Alley plantation - it’s a very impressive old sugar plantation near the Mississippi levees . Fantastic old oaks form drape the ground and form a canopy alley of views ! Then we drop down to Berwick and it’s impressive old lighthouse and bridges . We take a leisurely drive up to Avery Island , a wildlife sanctuary , and home to the world famous hot sauce of Tabasco ! It’s a spicy lunch before we head north to Layfayette and Cajun country !
