NC to Cali

We left out of Asheville with the only plan was to make it to Nashville Tennessee. We made a couple of detours along the way.
First, we stop by the Appalachian Trail at the NC/TN Interstate 40 crossing. Hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine is one of my dream adventures. This is when we first realized that we are about to be on an epic road trip across the country and need to take ever advantage of an adventure like this.
Once we left the trail we take or second little detour to see our friend Justin that coaches football at Maryville College. It was great seeing him and touring where he coaches.
After catching up with Justin it was off to Nashville for the night.
Whats else can I say about an night in Nashville. Man did it treat us well. First we went a check out a local brewery we were recommend by the hotel call Fat Bottom. Then after that we headed for dinner before hitting the town for the night. We went to restaurant called Merchants on Broadway that the waitress at Fat Bottoms told us to check out. They had awesome Southern style food and were know for their cocktails. After getting stuffed at dinner we hit the town. Let's just leave it at we lived up honky tonk row!! At least from what we can remember. That night we ended up in like 10 different bars, road a golf cart downtown Nashville and through a drive through parking lot, then finished by busting up into the wrong room. Next morning was telling us we had an awesome night and we were scared what New Orleans had in store for us later.
