旅行者Day trip one around Eden. We set of to Beowa National Park (formerly Ben Boyd National Park). First stop Boydtown. Look up the history. Lovely building. We also saw the Davidson Whaling Station or what’s left. Interesting part of history and a now very pretty very time beach. Boyd’s tower. Was meant to be a lighthouse but the government of the time would not find completion. Bittangabee Bay - lunch and saw lyrebirds. Went to Green Cape Lighthouse - you can stay there. Great views and photos. Also fantastic views from Disaster Bay. Back to Boydtown for a cleansing ale. 🍺
旅行者Day trip two around Eden. North west to Bega for more cheese. I found the Bega Historical Cheese Factory a bit underwhelming. A shop with souvenirs which were quite different and the museum of dairy farming stuff was interesting. There was, however, no viewing or tour of the cheese making. Bega was a town. Then to Bemboka - almost a ghost town. Then Candelo - the same I’m afraid. Then to Pambula Brewery and Oyster Bar. Closed as was the Chocolate and Ice cream shop. Bummer. Back to the campsite to reinforce our trailer for the wind. Again.

旅行者We headed off for a drive around Mallacoota. A small town on the beach with what they call a lake but is a huge inlet. There is a drive and walk around the southern half. Pretty. Some affluent houses a bit out of town. Amazing gardens with roses galore. We shopped for souvenirs and groceries. We wanted to spend $ and we did.
旅行者Day trip. We headed south of the town along the coastline in the Croajingolong National Park. First stop Bastions Beach lookout. A good view of the mouth of the inlet. Then to Geology Point. Along the beach to the headland rocks with a view of amazing rock formations. Then Quarry Beach. We thought the rocks were amazing before. These were incredible. Check the photos. Then to Secret Beach. The headland hides a cave which we could not get to because of high tide. Then Shipwreck Creek for lunch the back to Pebbly Beach. Back to camp. We were going to go out for dinner but the pub was full. The cabin is making life so easy. Pack up tomorrow then inland to Cooma.

旅行者Day trip around Cooma. We started at the very friendly Visitor Information Center who gave us a map of the historical buildings etc in town. We got as far as the State Museum of Correctional Facilities. Wonderful. It took quite some time and then it was time for smoko. We went to The Loft. Noteworthy for the food and the service. Both outstanding. Then another wander around town until lunch time. We came back to our awning fixed up by our wonderful stranger neigh our, Mick. The pesky wind picked up again to gale force and he saved our butts. A great guy who is down on his luck health wise. We bought him a bottle of wine. His dog Paddy already loved us and now he did too.
旅行者In the afternoon we visited the Hydro Electic Scheme museum and it was a bit disappointing. Photos and the stories of the people involved were great but the tech let them down. Next some shopping and home for drinkies,including Mick. Early bed as the busy road beside the campsite starts up at 4am.
旅行者Day two day trip was to the snowfields. First stop Jindabyne. Off off season. No snow and not time for the mountain bikes yet. The visitors center was good for information , photos, souvenirs and morning tea. Then to Thredbo. Also mostly closed. Saw the lodge that Buck’s sister in law owned. Swanky. The only establishment open was the pub where it was warm and we had lunch. Back through Jindabyne to Perisher. Also closed. Then to Charlotte’s Pass. This is where the magic happens. Snow!!! Small bits leftover from a poor season but we saw, touched and stood on some. Even threw snowballs. The view was great and included Mt Kosciusko. Worth the drive. Back to camp for a pre pack up and an expected -1 degree morning!!!!!

Cottongton gardens. The best place. Miniature English places and models. Plus European one too. So much better than expected
旅行者Then on with the day trip. We went to my Ainsley lookout for a great view of the city and surrounds. Next to the Carillon which was closed but we got close. Looking for a spot for lunch so ask a couple of locals who sent us to The Pier. A great choice. On Lake Burley Griffin. Good enough food and cold drinks. Next to the arboretum. Ok. Many many plants. A good display of Bonsai but the rest was average. The native and Bush Tucker garden was dry and only marked with the plant name. Not what it was used for. A good lookout at Dairy Farmers Hill. Next to the embassies. Fun. Then back to camp. So beyond warm. But meant to be 7 tonight. We’ll see
旅行者Day three in Bermagui. Day trip to Narooma which was better than we thought. The town was ho hum and small but the walk out to the mouth of the river brought us views of some frolicking and also resting seals. Could have watched them all day. Then after smoko we walked along the boardwalk (remember Kenny Rogers!) then back to the campsite and more winds!!! So windy. We did not start the pack up. Then wind just dropped a. It but we see lightning to the west so…..
