    Koh Sok

    February 2 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 34 °C

Koh Sok is a popular national park/reservoir in Thailand, it’s home to leopards, jaguars, tigers, elephants, monkeys, snakes, spiders, bears, and a cow looking creature called the Gaur. Also many fishies. The big cats are only seen on night tours of the jungle, “in the day it’s difficult to find them”.
We visited and elephant sanctuary where we met Miguel the 47 year old and Eleanor the 57 year old elephant.
The land is part of the Himalayas, very mountainous made up of sedimentary rock.
At dawn, precisely 8.16pm we heard the mating call of gibbons for two minutes aswell as the hissing kettle noise made from a cicada ( type of bird ) .
We booked a jungle tour for the whole day including some caving where we met the biggest spider i’ve ever seen and loads of bats.
