Inselrundfahrt & ein treuer Begleiter 🐾

Es war Sonntag, d. h. der Tag startete mit einem DeepClean. Nach einer kurzen Ansage zum heutigen Tagesablauf koordinierte Arne die Aufgabenverteilung und erinnerte noch einmal an die Wichtigkeit einer gründlichen Reinigung 🧽
Das Mittagessen bestand 'zum Tag des Herrn' (Rainer) aus einem klassischen Sonntagsbraten mit Kartoffeln und Gemüse. Bereits jetzt kann man sagen, dass Rainer eine für mich sehr wohltuende Ordnung und Struktur mit an Bord gebracht hat und wir alle von seinem Know-how und seiner Expertise deutlich profitieren. Auch sein 'Standing' bei den Kids und sein Umgang mit ihnen ist vorbildlich 🧑🏽‍🍳
Im Anschluss an das vorzügliche Essen war dann auf einmal Roland bei uns an Bord und sagte, er könne uns eine Inselrundfahrt organisieren. So packten wir unsere Sachen, fuhren mit dem Dingi rüber an Land und warteten auf 'den Bus'. Plötzlich, als wüsste er, dass es gleich los ginge, kam er aufeinmal wieder um die Ecke: Timo, unser treuer Begleiter 🐕
'Der Bus' bestand aus drei Pickups, die uns um die Insel fahren sollten. Wir teilten uns entsprechend auf und auch Timo ging mit uns zu unserem Pickup. Auf die kurze Nachfrage von Roland, ob dies unser Hund sei, antworteten die Schüler*innen - ganz selbstverständlich- mit "Yes, of course". So hüpfte Timo fix in unseren Pickup und genoss den außergewöhnlichen Ausflug sichtlich 🐶
Unser erster Stopp führte uns zu einem unscheinbaren Haus mit einer Terrasse, die einen fantastischen Blick auf das babyblaue, kristallklare Meerwasser bereithielt. Roland erzählte uns ein wenig über den Sturm, der vor zwei Jahren die Insel heimsuchte und wir konnten einige Dinge ausmachen, die nicht immer in Schutt und Asche lagen 🌀
Als nächstes ging es dann zum 'Playa Manzanillo', wo einige die Zeit zum schwimmen, zum Fußball spielen oder zur Erholung nutzten. Matthias und ich holten uns eine frische Kokosnuss, setzten uns in ein umgebautes Holzboot und genossen die Aussicht auf den schönen Strand 🐚
Nachdem wir uns auf der Wand von Rolands Beach Bar verewigt hatten, ging es für uns gegen 17 Uhr - natürlich mit Timo im Gepäck - weiter. Der nächste Stopp war am 'South West Beach', der ebenfalls beeindruckend schön war. Einige nutzten hier die Gelegenheit, mit einigen Locals Fußball zu spielen oder sich in den Wellen abzukühlen. Kurzerhand fand Timo noch einen weiteren Spielgefährten und die beiden machten es sich vor 'unserem Tor' gemütlich. Gegen 17:50 Uhr ging es dann ein letztes Mal weiter: auf direktem Wege zurück zu unserem Startpunkt 🛻
Nach einer kurzen Einkaufstour ging es für alle mit dem Dingi zurück aufs Schiff und wir nutzten - vielleicht schon das letzte Mal auf dieser Reise - die Gelegenheit vor Anker und vom Boot aus ins kühle Nass zu springen. Deshalb war es nun auch nötigste Zeit, meinen Rettungsring, den ich vor Abfahrt von meinen Freunden geschenkt bekommen hatte, auszuprobieren. So verbrachten wir die Zeit der letzten Sonnenstrahlen im Wasser und freuten uns schon auf das Abendprogramm: ein gemeinsamer Filmabend mit 'Moana 2' 🛟💿
Schlussendlich konnte der Film nicht überzeugen, aber auch dies tat der Stimmung - vielleicht auch aufgrund der zahlreichen Süßigkeiten - keinen Abbruch 🍬
Morgen geht's dann weiter: eine Überraschung wartete auf uns ⛵

Island tour & a faithful companion 🐾

It was Sunday, which meant the day started with a deep clean. After a brief announcement about today's schedule, Arne coordinated the distribution of tasks and reminded us once again of the importance of a thorough clean 🧽
Lunch consisted of a classic Sunday roast with potatoes and vegetables 'for the Lord's Day' (Rainer). It's already clear that Rainer has brought a sense of order and structure on board that I find very beneficial and that we are all clearly benefiting from his know-how and expertise. His 'standing' with the kids and his interaction with them is also absolutely exemplary 🧑🏽‍🍳
After the delicious meal, Roland was suddenly on board with us and said he could organize a tour of the island for us. So we packed our things, took the dinghy ashore and waited for 'the bus'. Suddenly, as if he knew we were about to set off, he came around the corner again: Timo, our faithful companion 🐕
'The bus' consisted of three pickups that were to drive us around the island. We split up accordingly and Timo also went with us to our pickup. When Roland briefly asked if this was our dog, the students replied - quite naturally - with "Yes, of course". Timo hopped into our pickup and visibly enjoyed the unusual excursion 🐶
Our first stop took us to an unassuming house with a terrace that offered a fantastic view of the baby-blue, crystal-clear sea water. Roland told us a bit about the storm that hit the island two years ago and we were able to spot a few things that weren't always in ruins 🌀
Next we went to 'Playa Manzanillo', where some of us used the time to swim, play soccer or relax. Matthias and I got ourselves a fresh coconut, sat in a converted wooden boat and enjoyed the view of the beautiful beach 🐚
After we had immortalized ourselves on the wall of Roland's Beach Bar, we continued our journey at around 5 p.m. - with Timo in our luggage, of course. The next stop was at 'South West Beach', which was also impressively beautiful. Some of us took the opportunity to play soccer with some of the locals or cool off in the waves. Without further ado, Timo found another playmate and the two of them made themselves comfortable in front of 'our gate'. At around 5:50 p.m., we set off one last time: straight back to our starting point 🛻
After a short shopping trip, everyone took the dinghy back to the boat and we took the opportunity - perhaps for the last time on this trip - to jump into the cool water at anchor and from the boat. It was therefore high time to try out my lifebuoy, which I had received as a gift from my friends before departure. We spent the last rays of sunshine in the water and were already looking forward to the evening program: a joint film evening with 'Moana 2' 🛟💿
In the end, the movie was not convincing, but even this did not dampen the mood - perhaps also due to the numerous sweets 🍬
Tomorrow we continue: a surprise was waiting for us ⛵

The tour of the island together, our faithful companion Timo and the numerous jam jar moments on this beautiful island 🏝️
