    Let the Holiday begin

    After a very early start wake up time 3.00 am we left at 04.15 and made our way to Portsmouth. After a not so healthy Breakfast 🥞 we got on to our Ferry ⛴️ to France Cain.
    Our first overnight destination was Brouges .
    The Ferry ride was beautiful, very calm Sea, lots of Sun 🌞 and we even saw Dolphins .
    We arrived in Brouges just after 19.00 very tired and so hot.    Read more

    Bourges

    We visit Bourges and his amazing beautiful Cathédral Saint - Ètienne which is under the UNSECO World Heritage since 1992. Bourges is a city in central France known for its half-timbered houses. The grand, Gothic-style Bourges Cathedral features 13th-century stained-glass windows.
    At around 13.00 pm we continued our trip - next destination was Samönes where we will stay for 1 week together with Lisa , Jörgie and Hugo so very excited to see them.    Read more

    We arrived yesterday at 18.00 just enough time to get into the pool and celebrate with a very delicious Pizza, which was sold very close to our Holiday House. We than finished this full day with a little evening walk along the beautiful Mountain River.
    The next morning was a very early morning to drive to the most beautiful Town in the french Alps " Annecy". Sadly the morning was very grey and wett but by lunch time the sun 🌞 came out and it was just perfect to walk along the market ( bought lots of local delicious food) and enjoyed this beautiful old Town.     .... and more Annecy , what a beautiful place in this 🌍.
    Have to come back again outside of the holiday season to explore with lees tourists around. It suddenly got so warm , so we spontaneously rented an electronic motorboat and had a sneaky nudy jump in this beautiful lake 🌊Read more

    Clives 54 Birthday 🎈🎂🎉

    A special Day as it was Clive's 54 Birthday 🎂🎈. We celebrated of course by going rafting with a local company. Very exciting also for Hugo as he has never done something like this on moving water 🌊. The highlight was when our boat got stuck and we all had to climb out on a tiny rock in the middle of this fats running river. The reason was a french passenger who was in our boat and he fall out 2 times no one got heard ( i only lost my water shoe) and it was an adventure. We also enjoyed jumping from cliffs into the river but I never do it without glasses 🕶️ again as I could not see were to swim too back .
    We finished the day off with a nice coffee in town and a very traditional french meal . It was a wonderful day. Happy Birthday 🎈 🎂 Clivie we wish you from the bottom of our hearts just the best and lost and lost of more happy memories just like this ❤️.    Read more

    Grand Massiv and higher

    Today we went with the Gondola 🚡 up the mountain to Grand Massive and than even higher to 2100 meter ( once we found the correct lift 😉) . The view was breathtaking. The clouds made it especially so interesting. We saw beautiful mountain lacks and enjoyed the Musik the cows mad with there big 🔔.
    Once back we refreshed in the pool and visit in the evening a local working farm were we purchased very fresh milk just came out of the coe. The first time drinking fresh milk 🥛 from the cows was a bugger list highlight.    Read more

    Samonës Market and " Bergsee"

    We walked early in the morning to our local town and enjoyed market day. After lunch we cooled off at one of the mountain lakes. The lake was so clear and so so cold we all went in very quickly but nothing is stopping Hans from being in the water for ages 🥶.
    Sadly when returning to the carpark we found both cars being damaged and scratched on the sides which leaves a bitter taste for the trip and feelings being in France as it feels like it was against tourists.

    Well ... It is happening I am 50 years old 😮. I don't know how this happened , I don't feel like it and I hope I don't look like it. But apparently I am and actually I think I am grateful as many don't get to celebrate their 50th 🎉🥳 I just don't like the time to go so fast there is still so much I want to do, see and experience.
    What better way than to celebrate the 50th on top of the world 🌍... Well almost ...😉.

    Alpine Botanical Garden Jaÿsinia

    After yesterdays being on top of the world 😜... well almost, it was difficult to top this amazing day.
    We visit “Outstanding Garden of France”, the Alpine Botanical Garden Jaÿsinia, with its 2400 species of plants, offers a poetic walk through the alpine flora and plants of the mountains and where we also got reworded with an amazing view over Samonës.
    At Lunch we enjoyed a traditional Creperie and finished the day by visiting the Gorge we went true with the Raft and cooled down in the pool.

    A afternoon in Dijor

    After 3 hours driving we arrived in Dijor in our very basic but clean hotel 🛏️. No time for resting we made our way with the local Bus into the centre, which after the beautiful relatively quiet Alps was a bit of a shock . Dijor is beautiful but very busy with lots of tourists of course and with the Summer Olympic Games happening in France ( Paris 2024 ) lots of people were enjoying public viewing. We visit of course the birthing place of mustard and enjoyed the most delicious burger 🍔 ever.Read more

    Honfleur + Deauville with Friends

    Very excited... Wir haben es geschafft uns mit Andreas, Mandy und Nele aus Berlin zu treffen an einem der wärmsten Tage an der Normandie . Daher kühlten wir uns ab am Strand von Deauville und erkundet and späten Nachmittag Hornfleur gemeinsam.... Es war so warm 🥵. Leider wurde Hans am Strand von einem Tintenfisch erwischt und das tat sehr weh . Er super tapfer und nach Angaben der rettungs Leute half ihm heißer Strand Sand . Dieser musste eingerieben werden.
    Am Abend verabschiedeten wir uns in der selben Creperie wo wir schon am Vorabend waren.    Read more

    Day 16 Explore Kuching

    Often referred to as the "City of Cats," Kuching is a mix of old and new, we walked all day and saw a rich tapestry of colonial architecture, local markets, and contemporary cafes and restaurants. We even found a pharmacy called Bath. The City feels safe and has so much to explore. In the afternoon we were desperate to use the pool to refresh before heading back to the center of Kuching for dinner and to watch the light firework.Read more
