Normandy - Omaha Beach

Omaha Beach is one of the beaches where Allied forces led by the 1st United States Infantry Division landed on D-Day. It is the setting for movies 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'The Longest Day', so the story of what happened here is well known.

You can see why there was such a loss of life on this beach.

The troops landed at low tide, the same as it was when we were there, so we got a good indication of what the conditions at the time were like.Meer informatie
