Buttermere

Today we spent a terrific day at Buttermere - simplystunning. We caught the bus from Keswick, thereby avoiding driving the windy, narrow roads and the shortage of parking at Buttermere.

The bus took us through the Borrowdale Valley and up and over Honister Pass, easily one of the most spectacular drives we have done. The photos give no idea at all of how steep the road is or amazing the surrounding mountains are.

At Buttermere we walked around the lake, a leisurely 8km walk, with a break for a picnic lunch. It is one of the prettiest places you could imagine. Czytaj więcej
