Rydal & Ambleside

After leaving Grasmere we headed to Rydal, where we went to Rydal Mount, where Wordsworth lived in his final years. The house is still owned by the Wordsworth family.

Next to it is Rydal Hall, which has Rydal Beck (creek) running through it and also Rydal Falls. Pretty spectacular. The dismal weather required a coffee and scone stop at the Rydal Hall tea rooms.

We then headed towards Ambleside for a two night stay at the Lakeside Inn. Along the way we had a look and short walk around Rydal Water and St Marys Church.

The Lakeside Inn is right beside Lake Windermere and the hotel restaurant had venison on the menu. Choosing it was a no-brainer and it was sensational. As we arrived the sun came out so hopefully it hangs around.Les mer
