Kota Kinabalu to Danum Valley

Up early and a taxi to the airport for our 7.30am flight to Lahad Datu. On arrival we were met by the tour company and taken to the office to check in. We then had a two and a half hour drive through the forest to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

After our welcome drink we had lunch and waited for our room to be ready. At 3pm we went for our briefing and then for our first walk.

We set off along the road and headed for the canopy walkway, a sequence of suspension bridges through the canopy. We saw a few birds including the crested serpent eagle.

After the walk we had some time to ourselves for a shower and dinner. After dinner we hopped into a buggy and went for a night drive. We saw giant red squirrel and lesser mouse deer.Læs mere
