    Onekawa and Nukuhou Saltmarsh

    February 3, 2020 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

For the next walk, I went to Onekawa, a part of the Te Mawhai Regional Park.

This walk was a little bit steeper than I was expecting it to be and in the heat, it was getting really tough to walk up the hill.
So I was actually deciding that I am not going to to the whole walk once I was up on the first hill.

The view from here was amazing and an enjoyed it for a couple of minutes until I walked back to my car.
I found some blackberries on the way back that I totally missed on the way up. It's just a little bit to early jet to eat them.

Back in my car, I decided it's enough for today and wanted to go straight to my next campground in Whakatane.
It's just a 35 min drive from here.
As so often here, I anyway don't go a straightway t my destination as I always find something more to stop at.
Here it was Nukuhou Saltmarsh, last two pictures!
Luckily it was only a short walk to the two lookout points!

After that, I went to the campground.
And spend the next if the afternoon in the shadow as it was just too hot again.
