• Wangarra Lookout Walking Trail

    February 22 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

We set the alarm for 6 am as we want to leave early to get to Wilpena Pound Visitor Center as early as possible. We checked out the possible walks and decided to do the Wangarra Lookout Walking Trail. We quickly fixed some sandwiches, packed our bags as it was just getting hotter and hotter and left the car park around 9:40 am.
First it was a lovely walk through a forest. We saw a Yellow Footed Rock Wallabie quite in the beginning of the walk. Super rare sight! Wow we are so lucky.
After a while we had to walk up the hill on a step track. That was really tuff especially it just got hotter and hotter with every minute. We stopped quite a few times but finally made up to the lookout and wow it was so worth it!
After a short break it was time to head back down as the sun was burning down at us and up here it is almost no shadow. Down at the former settlement we had a break to eat our sandwiches before we went back to the Visitor Center.
