Another prominent dormant volcanic crater is located in the middle of the town of Curepipe, making it one of the island's well-known natural landmarks.

From the previous stop, it took us around half an hour to reach here. The moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt calm and refreshing, very different from the coastal areas. At the centre of the crater was a dense patch of greenery. Standing along the edge, we looked out over panoramic views of the island, appreciating the vastness of the landscape shaped by these very volcanoes.

We spent around fifteen minutes there, relaxing on a wooden bench and taking in the peaceful surroundings, before heading out at about 2:30 p.m.Read more
