    Mt Cradle

    19 mai 2019, Australie ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

In an early morning, chasing the sunrise, we drove into the national park before the busses started running. With white clouds hanging low, the frost covering the fields around us, and frozen fingers we managed to do some breakfast and get ready for a long hike.
We went for the longer track past a lookout left out on the tourist map, eventually reached the buttom of Mt Craddle, and started the climb; looking forward to lunch on the top.
A long steep path and then half an hour steep rocky climb, with the need of hands to help, made the way down slightly challenging. And the last two hours down to the car, past another lookout and a different forrest, was on shaking legs and with fingers getting cold as the sun was setting in front of us.
Finally, with an unusually large and yellow full moon lighting up the sky, we left the national park after dark; avoiding wallabies crossing the roads.
