    River Cruise

    We meet up with Dan Bradfield - Red Knight, New York chapter 29.

    Dan graciously organised for a River Cruise…. Next level cruise up the Hudson River, East River, Harlem River…. Basically we did a lap of Manhattan.

    Sensational weather, made for a perfect morning. It was a tourist dream, information overload. Once again the photos will not do it justice.    En savoir plus

    Grand Central, more Fire Trucks & Duval

    We headed downtown after breakfast to see Grand Central Terminal and The Chrysler Building. Sadly Chrysler building was closed.
    Grand Central is a beautiful old building. Lots of people and the noise is deafening.
    Headed out to find 6th Ave closed for a Sunday market… this will make it interesting for our return to the Hotel. Buses are suspended until later in the day. Oh well let walk and see how far we get.
    Stumble across more Fire trucks then a Fire Fighters memorial.
    We’re outside the Theatre for tonight’s performance of “& Juliet” and find a quaint pub…. Never too early for a Duval.

    & Juliet

    Yet another public transport bus to take us to the theatre. Last bucket list item… a Broadway show. And what a more fitting show… & Juliet - the musical.

    Afterwards we headed back across the road to the little pub and had a late dinner, Chicken, bacon and mushroom pastry chased down with a glass of Duval. Lots of conversation before it was all interrupted by a small bat flying through the place. It’s never dull in New York.

    After a short stroll we’re back on the bus heading back to our hotel, this time our driver thinks he’s Schumacher…. Luckily he didn’t hit anybody or anything. Glad to get off actually.
    We find the little gelato shop next to our hotel open so let’s splurge on our final night… gelato and coffee to round out the evening.

    Sleep in tomorrow before our final pack and off to the airport for our long flights home. Depart JFK at 1920 Monday evening, landing in Melbourne 0820 Wednesday. Gotta love loosing a day on the way home.    En savoir plus

    The End

    And just like that our trip has come to an end. We’ve caught up with many friends… some for the first time others it’s the annual hello, laughs & hugs.
    We’ve been to many places, crossed many borders and generally been on the go since we started 3 and a half weeks ago.

    We thank everyone who came to see us, followed our journey and made our adventure exciting.
