We cruised the inside passage and stopped in Skagway, Alaska where we took a motor coach to British Columbia, Canada. There we had lunch and visited the Yukon Suspension Bridge walking across the swing bridge there were stunning views. From there we took the White Pass Scenic Railway back to Skagway and returned to the ship for a beautiful sunset.Read more

The cruise ship returned to Seattle very early in the morning. We hired an Uber driver to take us around town. We went to Snoqualmie Falls, Olympic Sculpture Park, and Urban Legends. The day ended meeting one of Lee’s high school friends at a restaurant at Pikes Place.Read more

We took a day trip to Mount Rainier. In the evening we ate at Ivars Restaurant on Pier 54. At night the Pier overlooked a giant colorful Ferris wheel.

We rented a car in Seattle, the morning of the Gay Pride Parade, and drove onto the Bainbridge Ferry to travel across Puget Sound. From Bainbridge Island we drove towards Port Angelas, WA. Along the way we stopped for lunch at Fat Smitty’s in Port Townsend, WA where the restaurant had dollar bills hanging everywhere. Next stop was in Sequim, WA to see the lavender fields. Then we went to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. We saw gorgeous views of the snow capped mountains in the distance. There were multiple Kodak moments. The day ended with dinner at Bella Italia where they filmed a part of Twilight. We stayed overnight at Olympic Lodge in Port Angelas, WA.Read more

First stopped at Elwha Valley Madison Falls. Second stop was Marymere Falls Trail. Then we reached the Pacific Ocean by Mora Ranger Station at Rialto Beach. It was higher tide and blustery. Next we stopped at Ruby Beach and decided to return early the next day when the tides were to be low. It was located just north of where we were staying. Lastly we reached Kalaloch Lodge along the coast where we stayed for 2 nights. There was no internet but the views were spectacular. We caught the sunset and moonrise on this day.Read more

Went to Ruby Beach for sunrise when the tide was low. The reflections of exposed rock formations and sun on the wet sand created great photos. Next we stopped at several other nearby beaches along the coast. At each beach gigantic tree trunks were washed up along the shore line. Sometimes we had to climb over them. After the beaches we visited the Hoh Rain Forest and hiked through multiple huge Sitka Spruce and Western Hemlock trees.Read more

We woke up at Kalaloch Lodge to explore the beach and had breakfast overlooking the ocean. Next we drove from Washington into Oregon. We went to the Columbia River Valley just east of Portland, Oregon where we visited the Crown Point Visitor’s Center. From there we went to see Latourell Falls and then Bridal Veil Falls.Read more

This was our day for discovering waterfalls and found Multnomah Falls. Spanning two tiers it is the tallest waterfall in Oregon at 620 feet. We went to see the Bonneville Dam, explored Cascade Locks, and found the Thunder Island Brewery for lunch. We had a mellow evening but had to pack in preparation for our flight home the following morning.Read more
