    Cholula, pueblo magico

    June 3, 2023 in Mexico ⋅ 🌧 81 °F

We visited a church on top of a hill, built on top of a pyramid. The church is called El Sanctuario de la Virgen de los Remedios.

TravelerThere is basically no pyramid to be seen at the "Cholula Pyramid." It's mostly underground.

TravelerThe hill IS the pyramid... Tlachihualtepetl (Nahuatl for "made-by-hand mountain", a.k.a. the Great Pyramid of Cholula), said to be the largest one (by volume) in the whole world.
