Georgia Part 1

A calm first few days exploring the west of the beautiful country of Georgia, the first of the ex-soviet republics. A country with a unique culture, language and its own alphabet.

As i would learn later Georgia has some nice roads as well as very welcoming and hospitable people. If i would have accepted all the offers for tea and food i probably would never have had to buy any.
Despite its soviet history Georgia its culturally and politically very western. The general aim is to join the EU (as obvious by the countless EU flags). The country had some pretty recent wars in south Ossetia and Abchasia after Russia invaded these parts of the country. Still there are a lot of russians and also ukrainians in the country which all live together peacefully.Read more
