Big Day in Barcelona (part 3)

Wrapping up Wednesday ...
we exited the "HOHO" bus at a convenient spot and took the Metro back to our hotel. Laurie grabbed coffees from a nearby Starbucks, which we enjoyed with a pain au chocolat and cookies (brought from Santiago) and zonked out for an hour or so. We felt refreshed & thought we'd try for some local catalán cuisine.

We set out for "Colom" (again with Columbus!) that had good reviews - and the hotel clerk confirmed it was good. A very popular place, so we expected there'd be a wait. It was an hour outside in a line to get seated. We struck up a conversation with 2 younger ladies in front of us (Alicia and Mali) who were on holiday from England, which helped to pass the time.
An excellent meal: pitcher of sangría, garlic shrimp tapas, and seafood paella. We made sure to save room to share a dish of crema catalana (aka crème brulée) for dessert, followed by complimentary shots provided by one of our fun & friendly waiters.Läs mer
