Time flies fast if you're having a blast

Couldn‘t be happier about the decision to spend NYE rather in little Pucón than in the city Valparaiso. The last day of the year literally couldn‘t have been any better, I climbed the Vulcano Villarica, crossing snowfields most of the time and had the best view from the top since it was the clearest day of the week. But the most fun part was sliding back down on our butts on the snow afterwards. Back home I never ever tried to make a special memory on the last day of the year, I always kept the focus on the party at night - now since I know better I‘ll stick to enjoy the time during the day for sure! The Chili Kiwi Hostel at the lakefront of the Villarica lake was the perfect choice for NYE, it is the most social hostel I‘ve been to so far and I spent the evening with lovely people from England and the US. Over playing cards we nearly missed the firework at the beach, but I‘m glad we made it just in time, because it was the first time that I saw a big planned firework like this. The new year started with a lovely relaxed day at the beach, the black volcano rocks were covered by shiny confetti pieces from the night before and I couldn‘t decide whether I appreciate the sparkling spectacle or hate it because the nature‘s exposed to all that plastic... Anyway the next three days were rainy and cold, but Pucón is a huge outdoor-playground and there are enough things to do. Hitting the gym, rafting down rivers on bodyboards only (Hydrospeed) or jumping in the cold lake with new friends is even more fun when it‘s raining all day long 🙃 My time in Pucón was closed by a exhausting but beautiful trailrun along the El Cañi Trek where met a huge spider at the top enjoying the view together with me - luckily I made all the trekking adventures before.Читать далее
