I finished up at work yesterday for 5 weeks - feels a bit unreal.
I hit a bit of a brick wall this week.
Months of training walks, anticipation, organising and preparing and I think it all finally caught up with me. My body made me rest.
I’ve hardly walked this week and only made it to one gym session but I know I needed it.
I’ve got my luggage sorted and it’s probably a little heavier than I’d hoped. In saying that, I’m only carrying a day pack and my luggage is transferred each day but I still don’t want to overpack because there’s still train stations, staircases and plenty of lugging involved after walking up to 30km some days.
Last night I was running around like a mad woman trying to get organised and slipped on the dog bed and hit the deck pretty hard. Jarred my neck, hurt my foot and took it as the universe telling me to slow the fk down.
The funny thing is, underneath all the organising and chaos, I’m feeling really excited.
The thought of waking up each day with nothing to do except walk, eat, sleep and repeat honestly feels so exciting to me.
No constant noise, no rushing, just me - letting go
Walking, fresh air, little villages, curious sights, conversations, new places, cows wearing bells around their necks, greeting people with Buen Camino (Bon Camino)!
And some much needed space in my own head. X
