You pay 100 yen ($1) to have a lucky fortune drawn. You shake the can and pick out a stick, then you use the number to pick out your corresponding fortune card. If you pick bad fortune, you can tie it on the wall and leave your bad fortune behind. If you have good fortune, you can take it home with you and make a wish.
