Cooks Beach to Whangamata

A final walk and paddle on Cooks Beach before setting off. (First 2 photos). We walked through a pine forest to Opoutere beach, eating our picnic lunch in the shade of the trees. Rob had a swim (second 2 photos). Onwards, just a short distance to stay with Pamo and Col in Whangamata. We were made so comfortable in their lovely home and shared a delicious, healthy meal prepared by Pamo. We had plenty of time to reminisce over French campsites where we've met and shared cycling trips over the past two years. Our serendipitous meeting in Epernay started it all off.
