Marina Sieur de Champlain
Enjoying the first anchorage of the trip

Monty's Bay
Burlington, I love you!

The best beer and food in the U.S.! There are fruits and veggies I have never seen before, and everything is organic 😍
Converse Bay, United States

A quiet night at anchorage.
An unplanned stop in Westport

After our motor fan caught fire, we made a stop in Westport to find a replacement part and spent the night at a mooring.
Chipman Point, Vermont

The cutest marina I've seen so far! The building is an old mill. Here we took down our mast prior to crossing the locks of the Champlain canal.
Lock 1 and 2

Today we start on the Champlain canal. We stop in Fort Edward for the night.
Lock 5

Late morning, we didn't get far today!
A long grey day

A trucking kind of day! We ate our spaghetti while cruising in front of Albany 😁
Mast stepping

Another long and busy day. Started by jumping in the river to save a drowning bucket. Then went to put the mast back upright (we did it ourselves, yay!). Sailed down to Athens, N.Y. Anchored rightLeia mais
Finding motor parts and friends

After a few days of stopping at every marina we saw looking for a water pump for our Atomic 4, we finally found one! Our friends from Galway Bay just happened to pass in front of us while we were onLeia mais
Lovely lighthouses

We saw a few lighthouses along the way. Thinking of living in one 😁
Yonkers

A free dock so close to the city!? Why thank you. We'll stay for two nights.

New York New York!

Anchored at the 79th street boat basin. Great view and easy access to the city. Went to shore for a short excursion and some indian food!
New York - day 2

Spent the day in the city. Visited the museum of Natural History, bought some food from a farmer's market. Walked - a lot! Night was quite agitated, windy and noisy.
To a more quiet place

Left the 79th street anchorage and headed to Sheepshead Bay. Said hello to lady Liberty. Had some engine trouble on the way - something got stuck in the cooling system. Matt fixed it while I pilotedLeia mais
Sheepshead Bay - Day 2

Looking for a new dinghy
Sheepshead Bay - Day 3

The longest we've stayed in one place so far. After getting a new dinghy yesterday we needed a new motor to go with it. Hopefully we will have one by the end of the day! The girls got to do some netLeia mais
Meatball sandwich

So we ended up trading our 2 hp engine for a 6 hp one. Mario, the man we traded with, even got us food! Pizza for Matt and Lily and meatball sandwiches for Maya and me. Thank you so much, Mario! ItLeia mais
The Crossing of New York to Cape May

Our first overnight crossing and first time sailing on the ocean. We loved it!
A beautiful sight after a very long nigh

We got to Cape May at 11:30, almost exactly 24 hours after leaving Sheepshead Bay. What a beautiful place! We plan to enjoy it as we rest for a day or two.
A well deserved day off!

We went to bed at 8pm last night and got up around 8am. Did some maintenance in the morning then headed to Wildwood in our dinghy. Had a picnic of pretzel and ice cream on the beach, played in theLeia mais
Patuxent river

It was so nice to finally change spots and sail again! Good bye Annapolis, hello Chesapeake bay!
