The end of the world

Day 44 / Day 7 Camino dos Faros
Fisterra: the end of the world.
We sent our rucsacs by taxi today so that our 28km path through some tough terrain, including ascents and descents totalling 800m, would be enjoyable. And it really was. It really was! It was the best possible weather from sunrise to sunset: a clear sky, a warm sun but with enough chill on the mounting breeze to keep us comfortable. No grey, no cloud, no rain! At last, a simply beautiful day.

Fisterra, the place considered for centuries to be the far edge of the world. The zero point marker proves this! I walked 1000 kilometres over 6 weeks to be there, only to find - as Luca pointed out - that I'm always only ever, in all of my life, at the boundary between the known and the unknown. I know what's behind me, at least my one little perspective onto the experiences I have had, but I know nothing of what's in front of me. Only ... if that view of the seemingly endless sea is anything to go by, anything to take encouragement from, it's going to be beautiful. Very beautiful indeed.Okumaya devam et
