End of our first day in Bucharest. After settling into our hostel and orientating our ourselves we all went out for dinner. Well done to all who worked out the buses and haggled the price! A day in Bucharest tomorrow with lots to organise.Read more

On day 1, we hopped on a plane at Heathrow Airport and we were all looking forward to Romania. Our flight left the airport at 12:00 pm. The flight was 3 hrs long. When we got to Romania it was extremely hot and we had to exchange our money to Lei and worked as a team to find the bus that went to the hostel. We were all learning some of the Romanian language. 6:40am - Woke up and began our day with PT. Robbie and I went to the shop to buy food for breakfast. We then split into 3 groups for bank, food shopping and train tickets.

The temperatures were very high, there was a red warning as it was 40 to 42 degrees. We applied lots of suncream, used hats and sunglasses and drank lots of water.

In the afternoon, one group went to the Romanian Military Museum and the other half went on the metro shopping in Bucharest city centre.

After our evening meal, we had a briefing and contacted our project provider to make arrangements.Read more

Morning - sports -> breakfast -> food shop -> train

Train - 11:15 from Bucharest to Brasov, changed at Brasov to go to Rasnov

Travel - Once we got on the train we had some trouble with the seats as the tickets were difficult to understand but we got to the correct booths in the end. We arrived to Rasnov and walked up to the hostel.

Afternoon - The food group was sent off to buy food and the others had the chance to go shopping/exploring. For supper we had a meal of peppers, potato, chicken and much more.Read more
