Shibuya 109

Das Shibuya 109 ist ein recht interessantes Einkaufszentrum, welches allerdings von oben bis unten nur mit Klamotten für die Damenwelt bestückt ist. Der Einzige Laden der eher Unisex ist, ist ein Laden für die in Japan sehr beliebten Atemmasken. Die sind möglichst kawaii, sowohl aus dem typischen Maskenstoff, wie auch aus eher kuscheligen Stoff. Mit Bärengesicht, Froschgesicht, mit Sprüchen, mit allem. Die Verkäufer tragen natürlich passende Masken zum Outfit und sich wie immer super nett und hilfsbereit. Dabei muss ich auch sagen, es fühlt sich nicht unbedigt so an, als würden sie dir etwas andrehen. Sie sind wirklich darum bemüht, dass alles passt. Zum Beispiel hat die Verkäuferin gleich die passende Schlafmaske empfohlen. Ich war mit Kevin unterwegs, der nach den neuesten Modetrends gesucht hat, es war wirklich interessant, zumal man sich als Architekturstudent ja auch für Design interessiert. Nach dem wir den halben Tag durch Shibuya gerannt sind, haben wir uns mit einigen anderen von uns getroffen um dem japanischen Gesellschaftssport Nummer 1 zu fröhnen. Karaoke! Selten war schief singen lustiger. 2 Stunden später war der Zauber zwar wieder vorbei, aber ich bin sicher wir werden das noch öfter tun.

The Shibuya 109 is a pretty interesting mall, but only for clothing and only for women. The area might not be big but the sheer amount of specialised clothing is insane. The only store that is more or less Unisex, is one for the popular face masks, you wear in Japan. you can get them made of the normal mask gauze, but also in normal fabric. Of course in bear-face, frog-face optic, or with expressions on them, so quite kawaii. The clerks wear masks, fitting with their complete outfit and are friendly and helpful as always. Interestingly, I don't feel like they are just trying to sell stuff, it's actually about making it as enjoyable as possible and also to compliment the outfit. The clerk actually handed the fitting sleep mask right away, for example. Kevin came with me, well he actually had the idea. He's very interested in fashion and it was actually very interesting. As a architecture student, design is also interesting for me, even clothing. We spend half the day in Shibuya, before we met up with others from our group, to enjoy one of the most popular things in Japan. Karaoke! Bad singing has never been more fun. 2 hours later we were finished, sadly. I am certain it won't happen again.Read more
