    Tokyo Game Show

    September 22, 2018 in Japan ⋅ 🌧 22 °C

Also SEHR viele.

On the 22nd of September, there was a pretty big video game convention in Tokyo, the Tokyo Game Show. With 1000円, the tickets were actually pretty cheap, for an event like this, but public transportation strikes again, with 799円 for a one-way ticket. When we arrived at the station, there were a lot of people. A LOT of people. Even on the platform we just slowly made our way through the station, until we finally stepped on the street and the stream of people made it's way to the buildings. There's not much to tell of this, but it took us around 2 hours, to finally enter the convention, for a way that's probably like 10 minutes usually. I never was to a convention until now and I'm not sure yet, if I would want to go to one again. I do like the promo stuff you get everywhere, like fans cause we are in Japan after all. I got 7 of them, by the way. It's almost scary, how long some people wait in a line to be able to play 10 minutes of a game, sometimes 90 minutes or more waiting time. But you sometimes get a bag after that, if you don't have enough promotional articles already. Also fittingly for Japan, you get your stuff from girls in costumes, just sometimes there is a man standing around, but not in costume. Also, I choose the term "girl" intentionally, because it's impossible to guess their age and also most of them are pretty small. After a couple of hours, we went back home. That was actually the whole day, because after something like this, you really don't want to go anywhere anymore, for the rest of the day.
