Last day in Nice

Today was our last day in Nice and boy let me tell you this heat has really taken it out of us. It has been 34 degrees everyday since being here with absolutely no breeze, just stagnant air and it was really challenging us today.

We started the day nice and slow down at the beach. It was the warmest the water has been and it was just lovely. Pretty much the temperature of a luke warm bath, stunning. We swam, we sunbathed and just enjoyed our time down by the water. By midday the sun was starting to get too hot so we headed back to the Airbnb for some lunch. I wasn’t feeling the best so I had a wee lie down and tried to re-hydrate as much as I could.

After an hour or so we thought we better get up and do something. We had been recommended Eze, another small coastal town about 20minutes away on the train. We headed to the train station hopped on the next train to Eze and arrived 20 minutes later. Eze was small and not really much happening apart from a 25th birthday party that was was absolutely popping off in a beachside bar. They had a dj playing and it looked like such a great time! We sat on the beach for a while listening to the music and watching the water before getting back on the train and heading home to find some dinner. An Acai bowl for me and a pizza for Jayde and we sat on the beach watching the sunset.

A slow day but a perfect day to end our Nice adventures. Florence tomorrow! Italy here we come!Read more
