• Another day in paradise!

    13. september 2025, Grækenland ⋅ 🌙 26 °C

Today was one of those days that made me fall in love with Santorini even more! We woke up slowly in Oia, taking our time to ease into the morning before heading out the door. Once ready, we wandered into town and found a little place for breakfast. Both of us ordered omelettes, and they were absolutely delicious , the perfect fuel for a long day ahead.

After breakfast, we set off to explore the streets of Oia. At first, it felt like we were swept up in a sea of people. The crowds made it tricky to enjoy the walk, but once we pushed past the busiest areas, the streets opened up and everything became much more relaxed. With space to breathe, we browsed through the many charming little shops, each one full of character and souvenirs!

Eventually, the call of the sea was too strong to resist. We made our way down what felt like millions of stairs to reach Ammoudi Bay. On the way, we passed donkeys used to cart people and luggage up the hill. They were tied up along the path with no water or food which was a little disheartening to see. But soon we were by the water, weaving our way across rocks until we reached a tucked away swimming spot. It wasn’t the easiest place to access, the rocks were uneven and sharp but once we were in the water, it was pure bliss! The water was crystal clear and refreshing, and we swam there for about an hour, soaking in the beauty all around us.

Of course, what goes down must come up….. (that’s how it goes right?) and the climb back up to Oia was no joke! By the time we reached the top, we were more than ready to relax. We stopped by a supermarket to grab a few essentials, then headed back to our accommodation to freshen up before dinner.

Dinner tonight was at Kaliya and it turned out to be one of the most memorable meals we’ve ever had. The restaurant itself is stunning, perched high on the hill with panoramic views of the sunset. And the food?? Well even more incredible. We started with octopus to share, then I had the lamb while Jayde went for the beef. Every bite was perfect, the view incredible and the company, well the best out of it all. It was hands down the best dinner we have ever had. Picture perfect.

After dinner as the sun dipped below the horizon, we wandered the streets once more. This place is just as beautiful as it is during the day. Eventually, we made our way back home, tired but completely happy.

We have one last full day in Santorini before we leave this beauty place.
