Jayde’s 25th Birthday & Hello Milos

A bit late to the blog again sorry. So that means a double post!

Yesterday was a very very very special day. It was Jayde’s 25th birthday! Woohoo he’s so old now! A quarter of the way to 100! What the hellyyy!

I started our morning for us by surprising sleeping beauty a.k.a the birthday boy with a cake and bottle of wine in bed! What a wake up call that is!! He was totally shocked as he wondered how the heck I snuck a cake and bottle of wine into the room without him knowing. He must have forgot I’m a little sneaky snake and had organised with our Airbnb if they would kindly organise a cake and bottle of wine when we were out all day the night before! Success!

We did gifts, ate some cake, showed him the video you all lovely people helped me to put together (another success, he cried) and just laid in bed discussing how old he is now! It was a lovely wholesome morning and such a special morning celebrating his 25th birthday in Greece!

We would have stayed in bed longer if we could but it was actually a travel day for us (not good planning Kayla…..) we were off to Milos! Our last Greek Island yippee! We dragged ourselves out of bed packed up our gear and made the trip back to the port to catch our 2.30pm ferry. The birthday gods must have been on our side because it was a very smooth travel day and before we knew it we had arrived in Milos!

Our accomodation couldn’t be more perfect, a 2 minute walk to a beautiful sandy beach and a 4 minute walk to the shops and restaurants! I thought I better have one last surprise up my sleeve for his birthday so had arranged with our new accomodation in Milos if they could decorate our room with some balloons. The staff are the most beautiful staff so went above and beyond and left a bottle of homemade liquor for us to enjoy and even gave Jayde a little ceramic gift.

We settled into the accomodation before heading out for dinner. No birthday is done right unless you celebrate with a nice dinner and I had the perfect place in mind, O Hamos! A beautiful family run traditional restaurant that serve the most incredible food. The menu is an old handwritten recipe book and it all just feels so lovely.

We ordered the grandmothers cheese pies - insane!!!!! goat pasta - insane!!!!!!! And the piglet - insane!!!!! Honestly everything was so tasty, no wonder this place has incredible reviews!

Oh wait…. I apologise. I actually had one more surprise up my sleeve for Jayde. The classic restaurant birthday song! The lights of the restaurant went out, music started playing and everyone started clapping whilst the waiter brought out a sparkling desert just for Jayde! Let’s just say it was come back from Jayde embarrassing me on my birthday in Rome…. He loved it.
