Egypt adventure begins!

Today was one for the books, an early start, a border crossing, heartfelt goodbyes, and a brand new country to explore! We’re officially in country number 11 of this amazing journey - Egypt!

Our day began bright and early at 5:30am in the heart of the Wadi Rum Desert. Waking up in our beautiful desert camp with the quiet stillness of the dunes all around us was something truly special. We had a quick breakfast under the soft glow of the rising sun, then packed up our gear, said goodbye to our cozy tents, and hopped into our trusty 4WDs for the ride back into town.

There, we said our first goodbye of the day, to our amazing drivers who navigated the sands like absolute pros. Then it was onto our minivan as we hit the road towards the coastal city of Aqaba.

Aqaba is a coastal city with easy access to multiple borders! Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia are all right there.We stopped briefly at a lovely beach where we tried traditional Arabic coffee, sweet, spiced, and absolutely delicious. What made the moment surreal was looking out across the water and literally seeing Israel just on the other side.

Then, it was time to move again, this time to the port. And that’s where we had to do the hardest part of the day…

Leaving Jordan also meant saying goodbye to our incredible tour guide, Admann. From the moment we met him, he brought Jordan to life with his deep knowledge, hilarious stories, and the kind of energy that made even the longest bus rides feel like a joy. He wasn’t just a guide, he was our cheerleader, translator, guide and friend. We’ll never forget the warmth he brought to our journey, or how genuinely he cared about every single one of us. Jordan was unforgettable because he made it unforgettable. Thank you, Admann, you were amazing!

With heavy hearts but excited spirits, we boarded the ferry and 45 minutes later we were in Egypt! After another round of passport control we met our new guide, Mohammad, and jumped into our minivan.

Our next stop was the seaside town of Nueiba, nestled between the Sinai mountains and the Red Sea. It’s the perfect place for some well earned rest and relaxation. The vibe here is super laid back, and the scenery is unreal! Think crystal clear waters, palm trees, and mountains in the distance.

We checked into a stunning beachside resort that honestly gave us Fiji vibes. Our rooms were steps from the Red Sea, and the warm breeze was just what we needed after a full day of travel. We spent the rest of the afternoon soaking it all in swimming at our private beach, floating in the super warm Red Sea, lounging by the pool, and recharging. Later, we came together again for a group dinner, sharing laughs and stories.

Tomorrow we’re heading to Dahab, a coastal town famous for having some of the best diving in the world. We’ve heard amazing things and honestly, we can’t wait to explore what lies beneath the surface.

Jordan, you were magical and unforgettable. Hands down our favourite Country so far and we will remember the memories, the people and the culture forever! We love you 🇯🇴Read more
