Bye bye Egpyt

Yesterday was one of those travel days. You know the ones that starts off smooth, throws in a few unexpected curveballs, and ends with you collapsing into bed just before 1am, wondering how you’re still standing. But hey, we made it!
We started the day at a nice, easy pace (thankfully). No frantic last minute packing or missed alarms just a chilled morning before heading upstairs for some breakfast. Once we were fed and caffeinated, it was time to get serious about our bags. A bit of rearranging magic was needed to get them down to weight but we managed.
With bags ready, we ordered an Uber… and that’s when things took a turn. The first two drivers tried the ol' "cash only" scam. No thanks. Not our first rodeo. After a bit of frustration, the third driver finally pulled through though not without a little bartering to get a fair deal. Third time's the charm, right?
Once we got to the airport, it was time for the usual routine: check in, security, the pat down. Yep, once again, I set off the buzzer for reasons unknown, so the full body scan and pat down were back on the menu. At this point, I should just factor it into my travel time.
After clearing security, we grabbed a quick bite to eat before boarding our first flight to Athens. Two hours in the air that actually went by pretty quickly.
We landed in Athens, collected our bags, then had to check in all over again for the second flight this time to Corfu. Ryanair, true to form, gave us a nice little 40 minute delay to round out the day. But eventually, we boarded and took off for the final leg.
An hour later, we touched down in Corfu. Tired, a bit crumpled, but definitely happy to be back in a clean relaxing country. We'd booked an Airbnb just a 25 minute walk from the airport, so we decided to skip the taxi and make the final stretch on foot. It was quiet, peaceful, and kind of nice to move after sitting all day.
By the time we unlocked the door and crawled into bed, it was just before 1am. Long day? Absolutely. But we made it and now we’re back in Greece only for the day though as we are heading to Albania tomorrow!! Another new country woohoo!Læs mere
