• **Must Read** Jayde’s blog for day 3!

    11 ottobre 2025, Albania ⋅ 🌙 16 °C

Jayde has taken over today’s blog so everybody better be nice!!

Today started as usual, alarm went off at 8am Kayla stayed warm and all tucked up in bed whilst I got up and prepared breakfast, after breakfast we packed our bags and loaded them into Panda, but before starting the engine we thought it would be rude to leave Sarande without one more rolled ice cream and a walk along the water front, unfortunately for us the ice cream shop was closed but we decided to just enjoy the morning sun and walk a little further, the beach was lovely, the water was beautiful, roughly 8m vis and as flat as mill pond. The pubs and Davy Jones party boats looked like they would be a hit with the tourists in peak season and of course there was an Irish pub because they are all over the world, no time for a Guiness and after watching a local take care of an octopus we thought it was time to say good bye. With a disappointing passenger princess ( no ice cream ) we hit the road. The drive was nice and slow, still getting used to being on the right side of the road and shifting gears with my right hand but we were in no rush, the view from the window was absolutely stunning, we drove through surely thousands of olive trees before we made our first stop at Albanias longest beach Borsh for some lunch, very very long beach but not too exciting so ate lunch and buggerd off. Not so far around the corner we spotted a nicer beach and Kayla even suggested she might swim with me this time , very excited we parked the panda and went down. Much cooler water than we had been used to but far more refreshing, the water again was crystal clear and plenty of small fish to enjoy the swim with us. Wheels up again and we took off to find our accommodation in Himare. After we settled in it was time for some dinner, Chicken Pitas feed our appetite and that was enjoyed watching another beautiful sunset together. Albania is really proving to be a hidden gem in Europe and seems highly under the radar. We have now showered and finished off last night’s movie. Tomorrow is another day in paradise.

    Cheers, first and final.
