Farewell Europe 🥺
29. november 2025, England ⋅ ☁️ 5 °C
Today marked our very last day in Europe and what a sweet, sentimental send off it turned out to be.
The morning started in the most beautiful way imaginable. I was still deep in my beauty sleep when Jayde slipped out of bed, quietly plotting something special. A little while later, I woke to the smell of something warm and delicious… only to find him standing there with a freshly made omelette, smiling proudly. Breakfast in bed, crafted with love. Honestly, how lucky am I?
After savouring such a perfect start to the day, reality tapped us on the shoulder…. packing time. The dreaded, inevitable packing. Thankfully, with our flight not until 4pm, we had plenty of time to sort through everything slowly. It actually turned into the perfect moment to reorganise my bag, tidy things up, and get everything just right before the next leg of our journey.
Once we were fully packed and ready, we said our goodbyes to our cosy little Airbnb and set off. Conveniently, the metro was only a short walk away and took us straight to the airport without any fuss. By now, we’re practically professionals at this travel routine bag drop, security, finding the gate, settling in for the wait. The usual drill.
Of course, in classic Ryanair fashion, our flight was delayed by about 30 minutes. So we waited… and waited… before finally boarding and waving goodbye to Porto and, really, to Europe as a whole. It still feels surreal to say that and a bit emotional, closing such a big chapter of our trip. I am definitely sad to be leaving 🥺
Just two hours later, London appeared beneath us the place where this entire adventure began five whole months ago. Five months! It’s wild to think about everything we’ve done between then and now and to be carrying so many amazing, incredible and life changing memories we didn’t have when we left. This entire trip has been nothing short of incredible and I feel so luckily to have experienced everything that we have and to have experienced it with my best friend!
Once landed we picked up our bags went through customs where once again Jayde got stopped…. it must be the mo…. But seriously I’m convinced the customs database just sees his passport and goes, “Yep, that’s our guy.” Luckily it didn’t take long and we had finally made it.
Getting to our accommodation was easy enough, just a couple of trains and we were there, ready to rest and reset. Tomorrow is set to be absolutely jam packed as we try to squeeze in everything we missed the first time we were in London. And then, on Monday we fly to Japan!
Our European chapter has officially closed, and the next adventure is waiting right around the corner! Stay tuned.Læs mere
