• A jam-packed day in London

    November 30, 2025 in England ⋅ ☀️ 8 °C

Yesterday might just go down as another favourite day of the whole trip. London truly put on a show for us. We woke up to the most incredible weather full sun, not a cloud in the sky, and that crisp winter chill that somehow makes everything feel a little more magical. I’m not sure how many sunny days London gets, but we definitely hit the jackpot.

With a jam packed schedule ahead, we got up early, got ready, and headed straight out the door for something we haven’t done in ages…. breakfast out. The cutest little cafe caught our eye, and it ended up being such a cosy, delicious start to the day. Jayde ordered scrambled eggs with chorizo, and I went for the courgette fritters definitely not my usual choice but absolutely delicious.

After breakfast, we hopped on a bus towards London Bridge. Our first stop, Borough Market. It was Jayde’s favourite from earlier in the trip, so of course we had to go back. This time, though, the place was buzzing with people, barely any space to move, but the energy was amazing. We strolled around sampling anything we could get our hands on. As always, every bite was incredible.

From the market, we wandered slowly towards the Lyceum Theatre for the part of the day we were most excited about: The Lion King!!! We missed out on seeing a show at the start of our trip, so we were determined to make it happen this time. With a bit of time to spare before the doors opened, we browsed the nearby souvenir stores and shops, just soaking in that busy London vibe.

Then it was showtime. We found our seats, settled in and honestly, nothing could have prepared us for how incredible it was. The costumes, the colours, the stage sets… everything was stunning. And the music! There were moments where it was hard to believe everything was live the vocals and background sounds were that flawless. It truly blew us away.

When we walked out it was already dark, and the streets were glowing with beautiful Christmas lights. We wandered along, ducking in and out of shops and enjoying the festive atmosphere until dinner time. Naturally, we made our way to one of our favourites Flat Iron. Their steak never disappoints, and it was the perfect final dinner for this part of our trip.

But the night wasn’t over yet. Next up… Ice skating!!! We headed to Somerset House, where the rink was beautifully set up for winter. We booked a session and, with some time to kill, wandered down the road to check out the Leicester Square Christmas Market. On the way we even bumped into someone we know what are the odds?! The market itself was packed and not overly impressive, so we didn’t stay long before making our way back for skating.

Soon enough we were laced up and ready to hit the ice. And honestly? It was SO much fun. I’ve even improved heaps since last week! We had 45 minutes on the ice and loved every second of it.

By the time we finished, it was nearly 10:30pm. We headed back to our accommodation, jumped in the shower, and crawled into bed tired, happy, and ready for our big travel day to Japan!!!

What a day. What a city. London, you were magic. ✨
