Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii

Took a guided day trip to Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii!! There's 20 active volcanoes around Naples (some under water) and the ashy nature around the Vesuvius is home to over 250 plant species and around 600 animal species. We hiked up to the very top of the new/second peak of Vesuvius, as the old/first one collapsed during its famous eruption in 79 AD. That was also when Pompeii was covered in ash. We visited the famous ruins and it was amazing to get to know a bit of old Roman culture.Læs mere
