Tonight we are in Laughlin Nevada to see a sold out concert with Lainey Wilson. I didn't know most of her songs but the crowd loved her. One special moment she does every concert is bring a little girl on stage and make her Cowgirl of the night. She gets a special hat and will remember that moment forever. Today we hiked through Joshua Tree. So beautiful. So many and some are huge. I can only hope the one I planted from seed will get this big. Lots of cool rock formations such as Skull Rock and the Wall of faces. See how many you can see. We then headed to Idyllwild California without realizing we were on top of the mountain by San Jacinto. We had heavy rain and fog up the mountain so couldn't see much. They are calling for snow tonight. Crazy!!! We are hoping tomorrow will be better weather.Read more

Palm desert and the Zoo

Today we got out of the cold and went to Palm Desert where we went to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. The giraffes were the highlight for me. Their enclosure was so cool. Then we donated a few dollars to the Palm Spring economy at the casino but we did find 4.99 Gas to fill up. We came back to our mountain getaway and went to a local joint for Taco Tuesdays and beer. They had a local band for live entertainment. All the locals show up for that. Then we did a little hike thru the forest. Gonna miss this place so beautiful!! Tomorrow we head to Sedona AZRead more

Today we headed to Sedona. Not much to see just lots of driving. Stopped at the memorial for the firefighters killed in Prescott years ago. So sad. You can actually hike up to the spot but we didn't. It was 2 1/2 miles straight up. Tomorrow we will check out some of the sights that are recommended.Read more

Montezuma Well and Castle

Today was checking out cool sites. We went to Montezuma Well. This is fed by a continuously flowing spring. There where dwellings above it. Very neat area. Then we went down the road to Montezuma Castle. Very well preserved. Can you imagine climbing ladders to get to your home? Then we took a little drive thru Sedona ( too many people ) we continued on to Oak Creek canyon. Always a pretty drive. Tomorrow we go to Red Rock State Park to hopefully do a little hiking.Read more

Whew we did almost 10 miles today. We started in Red Rock State Park. We did every trail they had. Beautiful scenery. Then we went to Crane petroglyphs. Which was interesting. Over 1000 on that rock but so jumbled up it was hard to make them out. Then we hit the casino for dinner and yes we both had one of those milkshakes. Kinda of took away all those calories we lost hiking but they were yummy!! Tomorrow we head to Grand Canyon West where I plan to do the skywalk. We will see if I can get Maurice on there.Read more

Skywalk Grand Canyon
April 18 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F
Today was our last day of adventures. We headed to Grand Canyon West to do the Skywalk. It sits 4000 feet above the Canyon floor and extends out 70 feet. The walkway is made of glass. I couldn't wait to do it. Maurice thought he could but 1 step and he decided not to. It was awesome. We headed home and can sleep in our own beds tonight. All in all a great trip.Read more
