We finally made it. Wow too long on a plane for sure. 5 hours to New York, another 7 to Paris and a quick hop to Switzerland from Paris. We tried to sleep as much as you can on a plane. Our city tour of Basel today. Switzerland is a very expensive place to be. The guide told us that the perfect balance is to work in Switzerland, live in France and shop in Germany. The tour today was on foot where I logged 15,000 steps. Basel is on the border of France and Germany. It sits on the Rhine river.Baca selengkapnya

Luzern and Pilatus

Our journey took us to Luzern and Pilatus. Pilatus is 7,000 feet and absolutely beautiful. Although our view from the top was in the clouds the view coming down was worth it. We rode a cogwheel tram to the top and a Gondola down. Maurice wasn't a fan as he hates heights but we survived. Tomorrow we go to France.Baca selengkapnya

Castles and churches

Today we went to France and toured the castle Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg. Then visited the town of Colmar. The castle was really beautiful and there was a few on the hills that have been abandoned, which is sad. Lots of walking today. Tomorrow we go to Germany to the Black ForestBaca selengkapnya

Black Forest Germany

Today we headed to Germany to the Black Forest. We toured an open air museum and watched a demonstration making a Black Forest Cake and then we got to enjoy eating a piece. Pretty yummy. Then we watched a cuckoo clock demonstration. So many different kinds and all beautiful. Then we headed to Lake Titisee for lunch and site seeing. We even got to be on the Autoban where there is no speed limit. Crazy drivers on that going as fast as their BMW would go. The Black Forest is very beautiful. Chocolate and more chocolate

Today we are in Zurich at the Lindt chocolate factory and then Zurich lake. So much chocolate to choose from. You can smell chocolate in the air before you get in the building. We did a walking tour of this little town. You can always find a church in Europe. I even found a skatepark for Easton. Traveling thru the river we have went thru locks like the Panama Canal. Then we traveled on the ship to Strasbourg France where we will explore tomorrowBaca selengkapnya

Today we visited the city of Strasbourg France. The Cathedral of Notre Dame in Strasbourg is huge and one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. The clock is amazing as it tells month, date, astrology signs, time and so much more. The waiters on the ship have started calling Maurice. Jack Sparrow. Today we toured Heidelberg Germany. And did another castle. So many churches and castles. So much history in this part of the country. We then cruised on down the river to Rudesheim.

Today we are in Amsterdam. A busy busy city. More bicycles than residents. Most residents own 2 bicycles. They will run over you. They do not stop!! The coffee shops are for smoking pot and hash. The cafes are for coffee and pastries. You could get high just from inhaling the air in the city. We even got to see a windmill that actually has someone living in itBaca selengkapnya

Flying home

What an adventure we have had for the last 16 days. We are finally home. The country we saw was absolutely beautiful and worth the trip. We have now done a river cruise and we enjoyed it and the beauty of the countryside passing by but we like ocean cruises much better with all there is to do on a bigger boat. We met allot of very good people on the boat. But I am peopled out for awhile. Lol. Until the next trip.....Baca selengkapnya
