    Platge Cavalleria

    April 29, 2018 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

On Sunday we had slightly cooler weather and decided to visit the beaches of the North... and it was a fiesta de geologia! After walking from the car park through some rolling sand dunes we arrived at the first small beach which was predominantly purple sandstone... weathered in really amazing and beautiful ways. We sheltered during a quick shower, and then headed west to a double-sweep bay named Cavalleria. We then continued along the Camino de Cavalls wandering through more sand dunes, and then coming across some beautiful blue and red slate stacks. The flowers were amazing... with sea holly and sea purslane too. We headed to Es Mercadal to order a GF traditional pastry before continuing to Es Migjorn Gran where we had a traditional Menorquin countryside lunch... Jim was very happy with his roast pork! Then we headed back for some sun on the balcony and a few beers. The sea had completely changed from the previous day due to the stormy weather... we spent hours listening to the waves roll in.Read more
