Played cards outside last night. First night needed hottie. Beautiful on the river with the most riding off the water. A dear little houseboat on the other side. We all headed off early. Quick stop at Mathoura for some photos of silo etc. onto Ron & Val's for morning tea, plus eggs & milk. Garden full of colour. Pomegranates looking great. I love 🍁 Autumn. Then home 🏠 by Midday.Read more

Beautiful morning, in a very beautiful spot amongst Cyprus pine trees. Small through to large. Left about 9am. Ron did well to just miss a big roo. Gave us a fright before 9.20.Then further on, even scarier. 2 roos jumped across with a big truck coming other way. Ron slowed down, but couldn't swerve this time... thankfully they got across in time. Toilet stop at Mt. Hope & then onto Hillston on the Lachlan River for an early lunch.Read more

Left around 9am. Travelled through to Bourke, which was quite a pretty town. Stopped for lunch, on the wharf & Kerry & I visited the IGA. Then onto Cobar. Fuelled up. Stopped off at roadside spot 180 km north of Hillston. Very pretty with lovely pines. And not easily spotted from road.Read more

Doug, John Centra, Carlos left this morning before 7am. Our usual morning ritual. Around fire with cuppas chatting. Then fellas left to go shooting. Bill stayed back & Greg came back early, I think. Played cards. Ron & John returned. Lunch & another game of cards. Boys left for last shooting as leaving to begin trip towards home tomorrow.Read more

Left by 9. Back to Goodooga & stopped for morning tea along river near Brewarrina. Then onto Bourke for lunch alongside wharf. Kerry & I got a few groceries in local IGA. Kerry, Bill,Kate, Billy,Archer, Lenny, Ron & I went into Goodooga to the Artesian swimming pool. 36 deg hot water. Lovely shower afterwards. A few groceries at the store. Then back out to camping spot. Played cards until others returned. Had lunch & while fellas went shooting I read a book. Finally got Min on phone.Read more

Left early. Stopped at Hillston &had brekkie. From there to Cobar quite holly & many pines, goats & dead roos. According to Ron, about 7 Mt Hopes.
